COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Rainbow Resource Centre

Rainbow Resource Centre offers support to the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the form of counselling, education, and programming for individuals ranging from children through to 55+. It also supports families, friends, and employers of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.

  • BLiNK is a play group for ages 12 and under with a name meant to signify that it is “not only blue and not only pink.” BLiNK is a monthly opportunity for families with gender-creative and trans kids to make friends and participate in fun activities; to be proud of themselves and accepting of each other in an affirming environment, no matter their style. BLiNK can be reached via email at blink@rainbowresourcecentre.org.

  • Crafting Queerly is a space where 2SLGBTQ+ folks (ages 16+) can come and work on their current crafting projects, meet friends, and spread 2SLGBTQ+ joy!

  • INTRODUCING…the DEN (Diversifying the Enby Network)! A social space for Non-Binary and gender-questioning folx to connect with one another in a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment! Open to folx who exist outside the gender binary or are questioning where they fit within the gender spectrum. The DEN can be reached via email at theDEN@rainbowresourcecentre.org.

  • Newcomers to Canada (immigrants and folks with refugee experience) who identify as 2SLGBTQ+ are invited to join us for fabulous fun and friendship! At the social support group, New Pride of Winnipeg, we encourage you to enjoy making connections, practice your English, hang out at movie nights, and indulge in food from all over the world. New Pride of Winnipeg can be reached via email at newpridewpg@rainbowresourcecentre.org.

  • Rainbow Resource Centre’s Over The Rainbow (OTR) program is for Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (2SLGBTQ+) folks aged 55±. Over the Rainbow can be reached via email at OTR@rainbowresourcecentre.org.

  • We are a social support, advocacy and peer education group. We are here to listen, talk, learn, and support each other as we work to understand our family members experience in their gender identity journey, and strengthen our families and communities. We support, learn and listen at our twice monthly group, via email, our Facebook group, and have also supported families at school and community meetings. We also proudly walk every year in the Trans March and Pride March. PFFoTI can be reached via email at pffoti@rainbowresourcecentre.org.

  • Rainbow Alliance for Men is a place for all 2SLGBTQIA+ male identifying and/or presenting individuals who are 18+ to come together in a safe, comfortable and inclusive environment. Rainbow Alliance for Men can be reached via email at RAM@rainbowresourcecentre.org.

  • The Trans Feminine Circle social group is a space exclusive for trans feminine people to connect, and to share resources and experiences. The Trans Feminine Circle can be reached via email at transfemcircle@rainbowresourcecentre.org.

  • Klinic Community Health provides a full range of health related services from medical care to counselling and education. Driven by our vision of creating healthy and engaged communities, we promote health and quality of life for people of every age, background, ethnicity, gender identity, and socio-economic circumstance. Rooted in social justice values, we believe that everyone deserves quality care, support and respect.

  • Reaching Out Winnipeg (ROW) is a grassroots, volunteer-based organization that makes a big difference for a small number of people. These differences, in most cases, are life saving and always life changing.

  • Our Own Health Centre is the expansion of the former Gay Men's Health Clinic which was started by Dr. Dick Smith. We have a long history of dedicated service to Gay, Bisexual, and other men who have sex with men and we now offer care to the entire 2SLGBTQ+ community.

  • The Manitoba LGBTQ* Collective has existed since January 2019, and its mission is to support the health and well-being of Manitoba's French-speaking 2SLGBTQ+ community, while ensuring their safety, both in terms of sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as linguistically and culturally.

  • A new fund has been created at the Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) to support the programming of the Allosexual-Heterosexual Alliance; great news for the future of this club of the Université de Saint-Boniface Student Association (AEUSB), which was created four years ago.

The Queer-Straight Alliance is a positive space that encourages discussion about the needs of the LGBTQ community, as well as those of all students. In collaboration with a donor, USB’s Office of Development and Communications approached Charlie Dilk, Queer-Straight Alliance representative, about creating a fund to support the club.

  • The Spectrum is an RRC Polytech Students’ Association (RRCSA) space for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and their allies.

Developed by the RRC Polytech SA with support from RRC Polytech, The Spectrum is available for meetings and events aimed at students and allies, and to provide information on internal and external supports relevant to the community.
