This island park is just off the north shore Victoria Beach. The island can be accessed only on foot, crossing over a sandbar between the mainland and the island.  The walk over the sandbar is about 1/2 km.  Because of the heavy rains in June, expect that much of the crossing will be through about knee-deep water.  The water will be warm and the sand soft, but you may wish to bring water sandals or an old pair of shoes for the crossing -- and a towel to dry your feet.

Meeting place:  Tim Hortons at 1060 Henderson Hwy, at McLeod (Buses 11 and 77).  We will meet beginning at 9 a.m to sign waivers and allow participants to arrange car-pooling.  We will leave by 9:30.  Expect to be back in the city sometime after 6 pm.
